Born and raised in New Zealand, I have been involved in tourism and teaching my whole working life. I taught for four years in Auckland following my graduation before heading off to the UK and Europe for my OE in 1989. After a few torrid months teaching in the inner city schools of London, I fell into the job of tour guiding and haven't looked back. I have guided trips around the UK, Eastern and Western Europe, Russia and Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand. For 11 years I was based in London - touring in the summer and teaching and playing rugby in the winter. In 2000 I returned with my wife to New Zealand and settled in Birkenhead on Auckland's North Shore. I continue to teach on Auckland's North Shore and still do tour guiding in Europe and in New Zealand.
